WELCOME TO FRIENDS OF GARFAGNANA

We are a small friendly service, specialising in local accommodation and information about the Garfagnana region of northern Tuscany. We work hard to match you with accommodation and the local amenities to suit your specific needs. All the houses and owners are known personally to us and our knowledge of the area comes from first-hand experience of spending time there ourselves over a twenty year period.

The area's scenery is stunning. Known as the garden region of Tuscany, the Garfagnana has distinctive mountains and lakes, medieval towns and villages, festivals and cultural events. Hill walking, mountain biking, gorge walking and horse riding are available for all abilities. The local food and restaurants in even the smallest villages are renowned for their excellent traditional cooking using the best of local produce.

The self catering villas, cottages and apartments we deal with all have something special to offer, whether it be the views, traditional interiors, lovely patios and gardens or the special welcome from the owners and local people. Never far from the towns of Castelnuovo and Barga, the rest of Tuscany is accessible by either train or car.
